Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?” He replied, “Nothing! However, let me tell you what I lost:

  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insecurity
  • Fear”

Meditation

Meditation is a powerful yet simple technique with many health benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety. Due to the impactful effects of meditation, it has become more available in both substance abuse and general wellness circles as a form of therapy.

Mindfulness meditation is becoming an accepted therapeutic tool to achieving homeostasis equilibrium by teaching the meditator to bring attention to the sensation of the flow of the breath in and out of the body. The meditator learns to focus attention on what is being experienced, without reacting to or judging it, helping the meditator to learn to experience thoughts and emotions in normal daily life with greater balance and acceptance.
